It's been ages

I knew when I created this blog that I would probably not be very consistent with it.
And I was right. I just get bored with things too easily. One of the side effects of having ADD (no joke there).
A lot has happened since my last entry. To start with, I am no longer the manager of a smoothie shop. Sadly enough, the owner of the store went filed bankrupcy just weeks after my promotion. Hmm....
So, I was back out in the job market. I enjoyed my freedom for a couple weeks while slowly trudging through want adds and search engines. I finally stumbled across an add for tutors in my area and quickly called the number. It seemed like a great opportunity that was sure to not only pay well, but also allow me to use some long dormant skills.
After the hassle of getting a background check, Live-Scan report, and filling out a mountain of paperwork, I went to work tutoring young children in reading and writing.
True to its promise, tutoring has led me to use many skills I thought I would never really use again. One of them being Spanish. Much to my surprise (and mild chagrin) NONE of the families I was assigned to spoke any English. Great. You'd think that having a mother who was fluent and having taken years of Spanish would mean that I would have no problems whatsoever. Wrong. It's amazing how much a person can forget after six years of non-use.
It's also amazing how quickly needed vocabulary can come back to mind when there are no other options.
Luckily the children themselves all know a small amount of English, so that's something. They are all great kids and I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge!

Of course, now that I am adjusting to this new job, we are getting ready to move again.
Danny and I are ready for the 'next thing' and will be moving to good 'Ol Durango, Co in about two months. That's right! Going home... We really aren't sure what we will do when we get there but we're going with open hearts and open minds. We may be there for six months, we may be there for years. We really don't know, and that's kind of exciting! I am looking forward to getting reacquainted with old friends, strengthening existing relationships, and building new ones!

That's all the news I have for now. I'll try to be more consistent in writing! Ha! We'll see how that goes....
